21世紀における石油観の構築に向けて

The oil market changed its leading player's part in the latter half in the 20th century almost every ten years. It can be described that “Age of the major international oil companies” as 1960s “Age of OPEC” as the 1970's “Age of the consuming countries” as 1980s and “Age of the market” as 1980's respectively. The crude oil price rises in 2004-08 and oil has increased the strategic characteristic again. The first ten years of the 21st century can be called “Age of the revival of the resource nationalism” later. On the other hand this period is an age when oil was treated as financial products in the background of the excess liquidity and it can be described as “Age of financial products”. The spread of the markets-as-panacea philosophy can be overcome with construction of the framework of the financial regulation which applies an appropriate rule to the activity of the hedge fund besides the recovery of business morality.
