Company-S has conducted the multiple purchases of raw materials since 2009 expecting the reorganization and the withdrawal of the raw material suppliers due to the change of the energy situation of the world and the economic growth of the developing countries. Company-S experienced the Great East Japan Earthquake and accidents in chemical plants that significantly increased after the earthquake and recognized that the risk management for the suspension of raw material supply was necessary on business continuity plan. Consequently Company-S conducted the reorganization of the SC (Supply Chain) in addition to the multiple purchases.
In this paper the author mentions the changes in internal and external environments of Company-S and the changes in SC of it. Furthermore the author introduces specific examples of the reorganization of SC and the challenges for the future in Company-S.
