Safety standards and conformity assessment system in the USA contributes to realize a safer society. New products with new technologies are continuously introduced and may have potential risks. The roles and responsibilities of safety standard development organizations and third party safety certification organizations serve for an innovation in technology and a transformation of society. Due to unique process to develop safety standards in the private sector the safety certifications with new standards become available before new products are developed. This unique system is the keys to discuss the outlook and future directions of global safety certification systems.
